KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 8): Putrajaya is still deliberating on stricter/tighter standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb rising cases of Covid-19 in the country, said reports.

In a media briefing today, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pictured) said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will on Monday announce measures to tackle the current situation of Covid-19, which include tighter SOPs.

"The government, through a National Security Council special session, is still fine-tuning and evaluating actions that need to be taken immediately to control the spread of the virus.

"This includes considering stricter SOPs to be implemented, especially in the social sectors to reduce movement and the spread of the virus," Ismail said.

“So let’s wait for what he has to say and announce and we in the meantime can prepare for the announcement,” he said without going into details.
