PUTRAJAYA (March 17): Interstate travel is still not allowed for most parts of the country even as more areas are designated as green zones and a few more states coming under the recovery movement control order (MCO) in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, The Star reported today.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced yesterday that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Kelantan and Sarawak will remain under a conditional MCO (CMCO) March 31 while Kedah, Perak and Negri Sembilan will move to RMCO.
While a travel bubble has been introduced between recovery MCO areas, interstate travel is still prohibited between recovery MCO states and conditional MCO states, and between MCO areas. Meanwhile, inter-district travel in Sabah and Sarawak is still not allowed yet.
Perlis, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Putrajaya and Labuan are still under RMCO.
“The latest status including the change from conditional to recovery MCO will take effect from March 19-31,” Ismail Sabri was reported as saying by the daily.
