KUALA LUMPUR: (May 11): Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) president Datuk Ibrahim Ali (pictured) admitted today he received a personal cheque from former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, but claimed the former did not know that the source of money was from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) ex-subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

In a statement today, Ibrahim claimed he was not aware that the money was linked to SRC and 1MDB because the names of both companies were not stated on the cheque.

“I can’t remember when [the cheque] was received but it was certainly before the 1MDB issue was exposed after the 13th general election (GE13),” the former member of parliament for Pasir Mas claimed.
