KUALA LUMPUR (May 17): Three armed robbers ran away with various gold jewellery after they had raided a gold shop in Kompleks Idaman at Jalan Gombak, Kuala Lumpur on May 16, reported Sinar Harian.

Wangsa Maju police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah (pictured) said the incident happened on Sunday (May 16) evening around 5.15pm.

“Based on the CCTV clips, the three robbers, who were wearing jackets and helmets, came into the gold shop with a parang knife, an axe and a hammer. They then smashed the glass display boxes in the shop and snatched the gold jewelry. It all happened within one minute,” he said.

According to the report, the police believed the robbers ran away using motorcycles after the robbery.

Ashari said no one was hurt during the incident, while the total loss of the shop was still under investigation.

He also urged the public who has information about the robbery case to contact the police hotline at 03-9289 9222.
