KUALA LUMPUR (June 7): Malaysia's daily number of newly confirmed Covid-19-infected individuals fell to 5,271 today from 6,241 yesterday, helped mainly by the sharp drop in the number of fresh cases reported in Selangor.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in an update via Twitter that Selangor reported 1,374 fresh cases today compared with 2,178 yesterday.

Despite the sharp drop today in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases in Selangor to 1,374, the figure was still the highest among states and federal territories across Malaysia, according to Dr Noor Hisham.
