Stop-work order remains in 10 locations throughout DASH to ensure safety

PETALING JAYA (June 22): The stop-work order which involved the works on scaffolding and falsework in 10 locations on the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Highway (DASH) will remain until sufficient safety measures are implemented, said the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM).

According to The Vibes’ report, LLM director-general Datuk Mohd Shuhaimi Hassan said it has initiated discussions and site visits with the Occupational Safety And Health Department (DOSH) and the related-companies of the works to understand the situation.

The companies involved included Projek Lintasan Damansara Shah Alam Sdn Bhd (PLDSASB), consultant engineering companies Zaidun Leeng Sdn Bhd (ZLSB), Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn Bhd (RBSB), and main contractor Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd.

Shuhaimi said LLM also ordered PLDSASB, ZLSB and RBSB to conduct follow-up evaluation and inspection in relation to the concrete-slab-collapse incident which happened on Saturday.

To recap, the scaffolding for the under-construction DASH collapsed around 7pm on June 19, injuring two Bangladeshi construction workers, one of whom died on June 20.

The incident occurred near the Kota Damansara exit of the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).
