KUCHING (July 12): Frontliners and members of the public at the Kuching Covid-19 vaccination centre had an amusing surprise when a special guest – T-Rex – showed up for his jab on July 11, reported Malay Mail.

The man under the T-Rex suit was Kenny Sia from Kuching, who is also the director of Level Up Fitness. He was inspired by a viral video of a senior citizen in Penang who wore a plastic bag over his head during the vaccination process.

“I really wanted to bring cheer to the frontliners and volunteer workers as they have so many people to administer the vaccines to on a daily basis,” he told the news portal, adding that the T-Rex costume which covered him from head to toes could also double up as a personal protective equipment.

While many had a good chuckle with the unexpected appearance of the Jurassic Park star's friendly cousin, the frontliners stayed calm and helped him register his attendance at the counter. Some of the people at the waiting area took photos and videos of the roving dinosaur amidst them. A few volunteers at the centre also whipped out their cameras to record their personal encounters with this anachronistic creature.

The two-minute video showed Sia from the registration to the waiting area and into the vaccination area. However, how he was injected through the "thick skin" would remain a mystery as the video stopped short of revealing that, ending instead with a dino-pix at the photo booth.
