PETALING JAYA (Aug 6): Road users are reminded to renew their driving licences and road taxs by Sept 30, 2021, because no further extensions will be given any more, said the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

These include the renewal of Driving Licence (CDL), Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), Goods Driving Licence (GDL) and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence.

In its statement on Aug 4, JPJ said checks on compliance and enforcement will begin from Oct 1.

It added that in some cases where the road tax of a vehicle has expired but it still has valid insurance coverage, the vehicle owner could show his or her e-cover note upon request by authorities.

To recap, an extension of renewal has been given to vehicle owners, whose licences and road taxes are expiring between June 1 and July 31, to  between Aug 1 and Sept 30 due to the closure of land transport agencies during the lockdown period.

JPJ also advised vehicle owners to do their renewals online via the MySikap JPJ portal or through MyEG.
