LONDON (Aug 12): A 128 sq ft apartment in London, UK has sold for £325,000 (RM1.91 million) or £2,539 psf (RM14,912 psf), making it one of the priciest ever sold in the city.

The apartment has a built-up of 16 ft by 18 ft, which translates to 128 sq ft, or about the size of a standard garden shed in the UK.

It is located in Princes Court on the Brompton Road, only a stone’s throw away from posh Harrods and Harvey Nichols, which is also one of the reasons for the hefty price tag, according to a report by the local daily The Sun.

Harrods and Harvey Nichols are luxury department stores that offer over 5,000 brands, shop designer fashion and accessories, luxury beauty, fine jewellery and watches and furniture. It is also an area with many trendy restaurants and bars.

The apartment, which is the unit on the top floor of a 10-storey building, was put up for auction by local auctioneers Allsop in December 2019 but the sale only officially went through in December 2020 for £325,000. It had previously been listed for sale in January 2018 for £400,000 but there was no taker.

The ex-owner of the unit brought in a Portuguese architect Caiano Morgado to maximise the amount of liveable floor area. The apartment is equipped with shelves with an integrated TV, a full-size bed that can be transformed to sofa in the daytime, a kitchen that is complete with oven, hob and sink.
