PETALING JAYA (Aug 18): Tri-Mode System (M) Bhd has inked an agreement with Pulau Indah Industrial Park (PIIP) master developer Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd for the purchase of a piece of land in PIIP Phase 3.

Tri-Mode will build its third warehouse cum distribution hub there.

In a press release, Central Spectrum CEO Mohamad Razif Abdul Wahab said: “Despite the negative outlook due to the pandemic, companies should see this as an opportunity to reassess their growth strategies.

"A stronger focus in near-shoring critical components of their supply chain to ensure that the needs of markets close to the region can be met by Pulau Indah. Strong presence MNCs and local corporations, such as Tri-Mode, Ikea, Oleon and Mewah Oil, represents a true testimony of what Pulau Indah has to offer.”

PIIP Phase 3 is sized about 400 acres in total. The purchased industrial land, Phase 3C, is approximately 5.38 acres with an investment cost of RM17 million.

Tri-Mode will construct a new Class A warehouse and distribution hub with a built-up area of approximately 150,000 sq ft with a total investment value of RM42 million.

Tri-Mode group managing director Datuk Hew Han Seng said in a statement: “We are thankful to Central Spectrum for the confidence towards Tri-Mode, as the initial purchaser for the PIIP project in 2016.

“We have commenced our operations at our new headquarters and distribution hub on March 29, fulfilling our promise to build and operate once vacant possession is delivered to us as per the stipulated timeline.”
