KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 1): A famous food court at Suria KLCC has shuttered permanently today after 22 years of operations.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the permanent closure of RASA Food Arena Suria KLCC from 1st September 2021. Thank you for your patronage over the 22 years. It has been our ultimate pleasure to serve you. Thank you and stay safe,” stated RASA Food Arena Suria KLCC in a social media posting.

According to records, the food court opened its doors back in May 1998 and was one of the first few tenants of the building. It then went through a renovation in 2007 to spruce things up.

It was a popular place for tourists to try out local food and for office workers in the area during lunch time as the many stalls provided choices.

Many F&B outlets in the Klang Valley have closed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and those serving the working lunch crowd have been especially hard hit as the bulk of office workers worked from home over the lockdown period.

Many netizens have expressed their sadness to hear of the closure of the food court, saying they will miss the various good food there and hoped that the stall owners will open again in different locations.

“So, we’re extremely sad to see them go but we thank them for all the memories and good food! Which was your favourite food stall at RASA Food Arena?” wrote local food portal KL Foodie.
