KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 doses administered fell to 287,059 yesterday (Sept 10) from 322,346 the day before. 

Of this total, 176,032 were reported to have been fully vaccinated while the remaining 111,027 received their first dose of the vaccine and remain partially vaccinated according to the latest updates on Twitter today by the country’s Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), citing data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

As of yesterday, cumulatively 38 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered. 

A total of 21.2 million or 64.9% of the total population in the country have received their first dose and 16.9 million or 51.6% have been fully inoculated in the country.  

These figures also translate to 90.5% of the entire adult population in the country who have received their first dose and 72% of the adult population who are fully vaccinated. 

About 6.99 million individuals or 83% of the total population of the Klang Valley, comprising Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday.

Among them, 6.16 million people or 73.1% of the Klang Valley's population were fully inoculated with two shots.

Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded the highest number of daily first doses administered yesterday with 19,080 doses, followed by Perak (16,785), Johor (16,140), Pahang (14,995) and Penang (10,642). 

Meanwhile, for second doses, Johor topped the list with 31,080 doses administered, followed by Kuala Lumpur (25,234), Selangor (21,844) and Sabah (21,447). 

Yesterday, Malaysia recorded 21,176 cases — the highest daily case tally of the outbreak in 13 days.

Meanwhile, 341 coronavirus-related fatalities were recorded, bringing the country’s overall death toll to 19,827.
