KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 24): The landslide along Jalan Lingkungan Negri Sembilan on Saturday (Oct 23) has raised the concern on the safety of the houses in this area, reported Malay Mail.

Recent heavy rain has caused a landslide along Jalan Lingkungan Negri Sembilan on Saturday night and washed soil down on Jalan Limau Purut in Bangsar.

According to the report, several houses were affected but the damages caused by the landslide are still uncertain.

The report, citing Chairman of Selamatkan Kuala Lumpur Datuk M. Ali, said Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias visited the site on Saturday night.

He added that prior to the incidents, the residents nearby had highlighted the issue to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and urged the authorities to take preventive actions to enhance the safety.

“Much to our disappointment, this incident was not really a surprise as we have been highlighting to DBKL to look at the developments, preventive maintenance and enforcement in a holistic manner,” he said to the news portal.

The report also said Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil had visited the site on Saturday night, and raised his concern on the safety as this is the second incident of landslide in the last few months.
