KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 17): Taliworks Corp Bhd has won a contract from Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd to develop a package under Phase 1 of the Sungai Rasau water treatment plant for RM602.43 million.

The contract is to design and build a water pumping station, and water pumping mains to the existing Bukit Lipat Kajang reservoirs, distribution and associated works (Package 2), the company said in a bourse filing.

“The date of the site possession shall be on Dec 29, 2021. The completion date for the works shall be on Dec 31, 2024 i.e. 36 months from the date of the possession of the site,” Taliworks said.

The Edge reported in October that as many as nine bidders submitted their bids for the construction of the 700 million litres-a-day water treatment plant, where the tender — valued at between RM1.7 billion and RM2 billion — was called back in May.

It is understood that other listed companies which bid for the project included IJM Corp Bhd, Gamuda Bhd, and Salcon Bhd, according to the report.

Shares of Taliworks settled unchanged at 85.5 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM1.72 billion.
