PETALING JAYA (Apr 27): Knight Frank Malaysia acquired real estate agency Property Hub Sdn Bhd in a joint venture (JV) and rebranded the agency as Knight Frank Property Hub Sdn Bhd. The new company will be integrated with Knight Frank Malaysia’s residential operations, acting as the key element of the company’s residential agency network.

Property Hub comprises over 120 professionals across its Kuala Lumpur headquarters and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah branch. They are most notably known as winners of multiple MIEA awards (including Residential Real Estate Firm of the Year and State Real Estate Firm of the Year) for 10 consecutive years from 2012 to 2021. The JV coincides with Knight Frank’s 20th anniversary in Malaysia, and underscores its global expansion strategy.

Knight Frank Malaysia group managing director Sarkunan Subramaniam said in a statement: “I am delighted to welcome Benjamin Tee and team to Knight Frank Malaysia. Today’s (Wednnesday, April 27) announcement reinforces our position as the leading real estate consultant in Malaysia and highlights the power of our brand and culture to attract the best talent.

“We are also happy to announce that we have worked collaboratively to successfully complete the transaction of Block N at Jaya One between Worldwide Emergency Assistance Sdn Bhd and Luxchem Corp Bhd. With the combination of our 600+ professionals in Malaysia, this will enhance Knight Frank Malaysia’s ability to provide comprehensive solutions for clients in any market across the country.”

Knight Frank Property Hub managing director Benjamin Tee said: “We are excited to become part of the Knight Frank global family in addressing today’s constantly evolving real estate landscape. This JV aligns with our vision to provide our clients with a full range of services, including valuation, capital markets, corporate services and property management, while leveraging our expertise in residential sales and leasing as well as project marketing.

A new management structure, complemented by future new hires, will bring the JV in line with Knight Frank’s global practices and to bolster the team. Knight Frank Property Hub in Malaysia will operate as the focal residential, project marketing and international project marketing arm, leveraging Property Hub’s extensive strengths and enviable track record in the residential sub-sale and mid- to high-end markets, its substantial cache of high-net-worth clients as well as its invaluable experience serving multinational companies and expatriate clients from over 50 countries.

Knight Frank Asia-Pacific managing director Kevin Coppel commented: “As we are celebrating our 20 years of progress in Malaysia, I am delighted to welcome the Property Hub team which will add to Knight Frank’s global network. One essential part of growing our business worldwide is to find the right cultural fit with partners who align with our values. With the team at Property Hub, we are confident that we have found them.”

Knight Frank Asia-Pacific head of residential Victoria Garett said: “The residential property market is anticipated to gradually recover this year, and this JV could not be better timed as this strengthens our leading position in Malaysia. I look forward to collaborating with the Knight Frank Property Hub team, and helping them reach new heights."
