KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd's net profit grew 78% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM28.54 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022 (2QFY22), from RM16 million previously, as revenue strengthened amid improved progress of construction work activities.

Revenue grew 46% y-o-y to RM276.92 million from RM189.89 million.

The group declared its second interim dividend of one sen per share, with the ex-date on Sept 8, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday (Aug 22).

For the first half ended June 30, 2022, the group registered a net profit of RM57.4 million, up 35% y-o-y from RM42.39 million, while revenue grew 26% to RM577.51 million from RM458.56 million for the previous corresponding period.

The group also updated that its outstanding construction order book amounted to RM4.3 billion as at end-June.

For the remainder of the year, the group said it will “continue to monitor and implement appropriate business strategies in a timely manner to address the risk of post-Covid-19 challenges, such as escalating raw material prices, a shortage of skilled manpower, etc, which may have [an impact] on the operations and financial performance of the group”.

Shares in Kerjaya Prospek were one sen or 0.8% lower at RM1.17 at the noon market break, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.48 billion.
