KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 29): Sime Darby Property MIT Development Sdn Bhd (SDPMIT)’s ready-built warehouse (RBW) groundwork commencement ceremony for a 487,000 sq ft two-storey warehouse at Bandar Bukit Raja Industrial Gateway in Klang on Monday (Aug 29) was officiated by Selangor state executive councillor for investment, industry and commerce and small and medium enterprises Datuk Teng Chang Khim.

The warehouse, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2023, is leased to and will be shared by CEVA Logistics, a global logistics and supply chain company, and SL Ng, a fast-moving consumer goods market expansion service provider.

SDPMIT is a joint venture (JV) between Sime Darby Property Bhd, Mitsui & Co Ltd and Mitsubishi Estate Co Ltd. The JV will construct the warehouse according to the tenants’ specifications.

Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican said in a press statement that clients can expect a comprehensive suite of modern features from the RBWs built at Bandar Bukit Raja Industrial Gateway, and are welcome to work closely with SDPMIT to customise the features of their assets to suit operational needs.

“Market demand for industrial and logistics products remains healthy, and we will continue to provide solutions to suit our clients’ needs. In terms of the location, Bandar Bukit Raja Industrial Gateway is conveniently integrated with its surrounding ecosystem, offering easy access to road networks that connect with seaports and airports, as well as nearby residential areas,” Azmir said.

This is the third project at Bukit Raja Industrial Gateway developed by SDPMIT.

The other two completed built-to-suit projects of 384,000 sq ft have been fully occupied, with the first project handed over to Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd in 2020, while the second project was handed over to Leschaco (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and CEVA Logistics in 2021.

The expressways connect the industrial park to Port Klang, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and other Sime Darby Property's industrial parks located in City of Elmina and Serenia City in Selangor, as well as Hamilton Nilai City in Negeri Sembilan.
