KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): SkyWorld Development Bhd has been acknowledged for its outstanding contribution in affordable housing and place regeneration at The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards 2022 in a ceremony held at Shangri-La here last week.

The city developer received two prestigious awards, namely The Edge Malaysia Affordable Urban Housing Excellence Award for its SkyAwani 2 Residence and The Edge Malaysia Excellence in Place Regeneration Award for SkyArena, Setapak, both in Kuala Lumpur.

According to SkyWorld CEO Lee Chee Seng, the company has set its vision to be the best city developer with a clear purpose to “Make Living Better”.

“We are extremely happy and proud with these achievements and I would like to dedicate these recognitions to our SkyRians for their perseverance and hard work and to all our stakeholders for their trust and support,” he said.

Under the “Awani Series”, SkyAwani 2 Residence was recognised for its outstanding affordable housing projects in terms of quality of product, design, innovation, accessibility and connectivity, liveability, maintenance, community interaction (public and shared-use spaces, safe and secure access), land cost and location.

The project is SkyWorld’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative that has created a paradigm shift in homebuyers’ mind about affordable homes, especially for first-time homebuyers.

Lee said SkyWorld believes affordable urban housing is more than just homes that are priced affordably but comes with quality workmanship, good location, comprehensive facilities and sustainable building without compromising its aesthetics.

“Most importantly, it is to create a communal living that connects people from all walks of life living together, sharing spaces and responsibilities, and pursuing common interests and values in a harmonious way,” he said.

SkyArena, an integrated development located in Setapak, received the accolade for the efforts in rejuvenating the dismal location.

The catalytic development has enlivened the location, which was lacking in terms of the spark to elevate the living standard of the residents and value creation through healthy and quality lifestyles.

“SkyArena is our first foray into Setapak with the aim to enhance city living by introducing an ‘Active Living’ concept that will improve the wellness and well-being of its residents,” Lee said, adding that it is the largest single development that comprises three residential phases, a multi-storey multi-facility sports complex and a commercial component.

“We will continue to stay focused in the city and build our properties around our three Brand Pillars – Sky Living Experience, Innovation and Value Creation,” Lee said.
