KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 14): The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) has been awarded the National Occupational Safety and Health Awards 2020 and 2021 for the non-governmental organisation (NGO) category.

Recognising individuals, employers and NGOs from various industrial sectors that have excelled in areas of occupational safety and health in the workplace, the annual National Occupational Safety and Health Award ceremony is organised by the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health.

The NGO category award was first introduced in 2019, and the MBAM was its second recipient since its inception. The award is given to NGOs that have demonstrated excellent track records in occupational safety and health management.

According to a press statement by the MBAM, the award is a reflection of its continuous efforts in promoting a safe and healthy work culture in the workplace through various occupational safety and health seminars, as well as occupational safety and health in the construction industry in management (OSCHIM) workshops, which it has been organising over the years.

Besides, the MBAM is also working closely with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health and the Construction Industry Development Board to promote the implementation of OSCHIM.
