KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): The 25th National Real Estate Convention, organised by the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and the Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the private sector of Malaysia (PEPS), will discuss property market challenges with an experience panel of speakers. Themed, “Homes for Generations -- Redefining Development Trends”, the event will be held at e-City Hotel, Subang Jaya on the Nov 12.

“We have targeted audiences from various backgrounds such as developers, investors, bankers, property consultants, academia and students. With the kind aid from MCT Bhd and B&G Capital Resources Bhd as the event and F&B Sponsors respectively, I can envision that this full day event [the 25th NREC] will benefit all patrons and participants, to better contribute to the Malaysian real estate industry,” said head of the event-organising committee, Datuk Tunku Fauzi Datuk Tunku Abdul Malek Al Haj.

He added that the event will address current concerns of the industry through interactive dissemination of information and professional viewpoints from property participants.

The convention will discuss issues such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the depreciation of the ringgit and the poor consumer sentiment, as well as the adaptation of developer trends to fit market demand.

Speakers include chief operating officer of PR1MA Datuk Aminuddin Manaf, Khazanah Research Institute’s director of research Suraya Ismail and director of Exastrata Solution Sdn Bhd Adzman Shah Mohd Ariffin. Knight Frank’s Asia Pacific Research director, Nicholas Holt, will offer his professional outlook on the Asia-Pacific property market.
