Greenway

PETALING JAYA (Aug 8): Mah Sing Group Bhd’s The Greenway, located in its Meridin East township at Kong Kong, Pasir Gudang, Johor saw 85% of units booked during its Meridin East Sales Gallery and Show Village launch over last weekend, said the developer in a statement today.

The Greenway comprises 492 units of 4-bedroom 2-storey link homes with built-ups ranging from 1,595 sq ft to 1,648 sq ft, with prices starting from RM357,000, it said.

The 1,313-acre Meridin East is a gated-and-guarded township to be developed over the next 12 to 15 years and has a gross development value of RM5 billion. It is also Mah Sing’s biggest development by acreage.

According to Mah Sing, Meridin East is located near Pasir Gudang Industrial Hub and Tanjung Langsat Industrial Park where it will play an important role in addressing the housing needs of the workers and families in their respective areas.

Mah Sing managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum noted that the launch of Meridin East represents a milestone for the company.

“Meridin East is our largest township and its launch marks a milestone for the group. We have invested significantly to provide the best for our homeowners, among which includes the RM30 million sales gallery which we officially opened over the weekend.

“The sales gallery will be converted into the township’s community clubhouse over the next three to five years.

“We are also glad to see the positive reception the public has shown for our Greenway 2-storey link homes. The enhanced infrastructure and added accessibility into Meridin East will be a strong pull [factor] for the township.

“The group is already upgrading Jalan Kong Kong and the next phase will involve developing a proposed direct slip-in and slip-out from the Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE) spur road, benefitting Meridin East’s residents and the surrounding community,” said Leong.

The developer is currently widening Jalan Kong Kong to a 40m, four-lane thoroughfare. The proposed direct slip-in and slip-out from the SDE spur road at the Cahaya Baru Toll into Jalan Kong Kong is expected to improve accessibility for Meridin East’s residents heading towards or coming from Tanjung Langsat.

Mah Sing added that the proposed Johor-Singapore Rapid Transit System is scheduled for completion in 2020 and the concrete deliberations of the proposed third link bridge from Desaru or Pengerang to Singapore are underway.

“Recently, the Johor government also announced a proposed ferry and water taxi services from Kong Kong, Pasir Gudang to Singapore’s Changi Ferry Terminal.

“All these will see Meridin East become and in-demand location for those who work in both Johor and Singapore,” said Mah Sing.
