Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa in Sunway City

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 29): Sunway Hotels & Resorts newly opened regional sales office in Shanghai targets to push its hotel revenue growth to double-digit from the burgeoning and affluent outbound Chinese travel market.

According to statement, Sunway Hotels & Resorts said the move to open the regional sales office is in line with its Greater China market development project in partnership with Century Holiday International Travel Group.

The company said the regional sales office in Shanghai will be responsible for developing and managing Sunway’s key accounts in Greater China and to expand the market through the generation of sales leads and bookings in the leisure and corporate segments for Sunway Hotels & Resorts’ 11 premium hotels and resorts in Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.

“Our presence in China affirms Sunway’s commitment to further strengthen the brand’s footprint, catering to the robust Chinese outbound corporate travel and leisure tourist markets,” said Sunway Hotels & Resorts chief executive officer Albert Cheong.

Following the opening of the regional sales office, Sunway organised a three-city roadshow from Sept 19 to 23 to promote several of the company’s iconic facilities as a major tourist and convention destination for Chinese travellers.

The roadshow was in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia and Century Holiday.

Among Sunway’s hotels and resorts in Malaysia are Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Sunway Pyramid Hotel, Sunway Clio Hotel, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat and Sunway Hotel Georgetown.
