MIEA NREA 2016

PETALING JAYA (Oct 7): Having the passion to help others find their dream homes is what some of the winners of  the MIEA National Real Estate Awards (NREA) 2016 have in common.

Organised by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA), this year’s awards saw more than 20 real estate agents, negotiators and firms receive awards for their sterling performances in the industry.

The winner of the MIEA-TheEdgeProperty.com Top Online Real Estate Negotiator (REN) Joseph Ding from Tech Realtor Properties Sdn Bhd, finds great joy and satisfaction in helping his clients achieve their dreams and needs.

“Being a good negotiator involves placing myself in the client’s shoes. In my opinion, having extensive knowledge of the property market is a given for all negotiators but the ability to communicate helpful and beneficial advice to the client is what makes a REN exceptional,” he said.

Meanwhile, the MIEA-TheEdgeProperty.com Most Innovative Real Estate Firm Award went to Cornerstone Realty, which was set up in 2008. In the last 20 months, it grew from only 15 RENs to a company with 75 RENs.

“We always try to find the best ways and methods to turn something we are passionate about — real estate — into something that will positively impact our clients’ experience with us,” said director of sales and marketing of Cornerstone Realty, Wong Yau Long.

To Lim Boon Bing, the vice-president of MIEA who received the Fellowship Award at NREA 2016, to join an elite pool of 23 other MIEA fellows, was an honour.

Lim who has been in the industry for over two decades, believes that beyond passion, one needs to maintain one’s integrity as a professional in the business.

“As a professional, integrity is important because the word covers many values such as honesty, sincerity and trustworthiness,” he said.
