Zouk, TREC, Jalan Tun Razak

After 11 years on Jalan Ampang, one of the federal capital's popular nightspots, Zouk KL, last night unveiled its new home in TREC lifestyle nexus.

TREC, which stands for “Taste, Relish, Experience and Celebrate”, is located on Jalan Tun Razak, near the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

Zouk KL had closed its doors last month as it prepared to move to its new home at the TREC.

Its current venue offers a magnificent view of KL Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers from the entrance of the club.

The new club, which costs RM38 million to build, is housed in a 9,800 sq m complex — twice the size of the old club. Of this, 5,600 sq m is club space. It is also one of the biggest superclubs in Asia.

Within the club, there are 11 uniquely designed rooms which cater to the diverse clubbers who frequent Zouk.

Zouk Cafe Bar, Beer Garden, Zouk Main Room, Ace, Phuture, Velvet Underground, Member’s Lounge, Apex Lounge, Glass Box, Imperial and Balcony Deck make up the 11 rooms in the two-storey building.

Last night's launch saw guests experiencing first hand what was so unique about the 11 rooms that form the main attractions at Zouk.

The Imperial has to be one of the best rooms by far. At the entrance of the room, rare and expensive liquor collections line the wall on the right. Walking in, 1,200 Dom Perignon Champagne bottles make up part of the decor.

There is also a slide connecting the Imperial to the Member’s lounge. So instead of taking the stairs or the lift, guests can simply slide down to the lounge.

Guests were also entertained by DJs including Axel Groove, MC Vandal, Skillz and Golfish. The launch ended with a spectacular fireworks.
