KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 25): Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed three new contracts for hotels in the northern, southern and western parts of India.
The three new hotels are Radisson Blue Kochi Elamkulam (south India), Radisson Resort Mahabaleshwar (west India) and Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road in New Delhi (north India).

“We have a strong and active development pipeline, with many of these projects already under construction. Our strategy to concurrently strengthen our presence in state capitals, as well as emerging secondary and tertiary cities, is delivering the robust growth that we anticipated. We are confident of achieving our goal of increasing our India portfolio to more than 170 hotels within the next five years,” said Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group CEO of South Asia Raj Rana in a press release today.

Radisson Blu Kochi Elamkulam will offer 150 rooms, Radisson Resort Mahabaleshwar, 158 rooms and Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road, 119 rooms.

Radisson Blu Kochi is the first Carlson's hotel in Elamkulam. The hotel is due to open this December. It is owned by MIddle East Hotel Company Private Ltd, an affiliate of Hampshire Hotels.

The Radisson Resor Mahabaleshwar is located 1,438m above sea level in a prominent leisure destination, and will offer views of the Koyna River and the valley. The resort is owned by Phenomenal Industries Ltd and scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019.

Meanwhile, Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road will cater to the business and wedding segments due to its proximity to major commercial and residential areas, leisure, sports and industrial hubs. The hotel is owned by X Nine Developers Pvt Ltd and due to open in the first quarter of 2018.

Carlson Rezidor currently has 71 hotels in operation and 41 under development across 45 Indian cities, including 14 state capitals.

Earlier this year, Carlson Rezidor signed up Radisson Hosur, Radisson Dehradun and Radisson Goa Candolim in India. Radisson Goa Candolim was opened in the first half of 2015.
