KUALA LUMPUR (May 30): Eco World International Sdn Bhd is making headway in international waters with not one but four projects; three in London and one in Sydney, Australia.

The three London projects are joint ventures between Eco World International and UK-based developer Ballymore Group.

The first to get off the ground is London City Island, which has an estimated gross development value of £614 million (RM3.4 billion).

London City Island will be developed under Eco World Ballymore Holdings Co Ltd. The project aims to complement Canary Wharf just 1.5 miles away.

Due to the project’s island-like setting, it has a feel not unlike Manhattan.

The mixed-used project will cover 12 acres and has already drawn good response. Almost all the allocated units for Kuala Lumpur have been booked following a preview event here recently.

Besides the residential component, a small retail section will provide residents with conveniences, as well as an arts and culture hub that will add some sophistication to the project.

London City Island will be launched in KL and London simultaneously on May 30.
