23rd Malaysia Property Awards

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): The International Real Estate Federation’s Malaysian chapter (Fiabci Malaysia) has named Ekovest Bhd’s co-founder and executive chairman Tan Sri Datuk Lim Kang Hoo Property Man while IJM Land Bhd’s non-executive director and former CEO and managing director Datuk Soam Heng Choon was awarded Property CEO at the 23rd Malaysia Property Awards (MPA) presentation ceremony here tonight.

Meanwhile, 11 projects took home awards in the environmental (rehabilitation/conversation), hotel, industrial, master plan, office, residential (high rise), residential (mid rise), residential (low rise), resort, retail and sustainable development categories.

The awards presentation ceremony was graced by Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Johor.

The 11 winning projects will represent Malaysia at the international Fiabci Prix d’Excellence competition, which will be held in Panama City, Panama, next May.

Fiabci Malaysia president Tengku Abdul Aziz Tengku Mahmud hopes these awards will spur the development of more excellent projects that benefit the community and environment.

Meanwhile, MPA organising chairman Yu Kee Su lauded the quality of local projects that continue to exceed the judges’ expectations.

Among the award winners are Senibong Cove-Lunchoo River by Front Concept Sdn Bhd in the environmental (rehabilitation/conservation) category, WOLO Bukit Bintang by Mammoth Empire Holding Sdn Bhd in the hotel category, and Nouvelle Industrial Park Lot 10 by Exsim Development Sdn Bhd in the industrial category.

Senibong Cove also won the master plan award. Additionally, other winners include Menara Shell by Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) in the office category, The Haven Lakeside Residence by The Haven Sdn Bhd in the residential (high rise) category, Dedaun by Selangor Dredging Bhd for the residential (mid rise) category and The Mansions by Perdana ParkCity Sdn Bhd in the residential (low rise) category.

Meanwhile, the winner of the resort category is Batu Batu Resort by Batu Batu Resort Sdn Bhd, while the winner of the retail category is Gurney Paragon Mall by Hunza Properties (Penang) Sdn Bhd.

Last but not least is S P Setia Bhd whose S P Setia Headquarters in Setia Alam clinched the sustainable development category.
