HOMEDEC

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 30): The upcoming HOMEDEC exhibition at the end of October will be themed "Aged Care Living & Design".

According to a press statement yesterday, the Aged Care Living & Design theme is a collaboration between HOMEDEC, C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd together with Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and National Council of Senior Citizens Organisations Malaysia (NACSCOM).

“We are proud to be part of this meaningful project... The big difference (of HOMEDEC) this year is that we are alerting society to plan their home designs so that they are aged care living friendly,” said Datuk Vincent Lim, president of C.I.S Network.

There will be three life-sized show homes by three Malaysian designers at the exhibition. They will give their creative and practical interpretations to the concept of designing non-assisted aged care living (low care living), semi-assisted aged care living (mid care living) and fully-assisted aged care living (full care living) spaces.

The aim of the show homes is to provide a solution for residences to be equipped for the aged and homeowners to be aware of their interior surroundings for a conductive aged care lifestyle.

The Aged Care Living & Design exhibition will be held over two consecutive weekends from Thursday to Sunday, for a total of eight days. The first weekend of Oct 22 to 25 is called HOMEDEC Part 1 and will look at the concept of Design & Renovate. The second weekend from Oct 29 to Nov 1 is Part 2, with the theme of Furnish & Decorate.

The HOMEDEC Aged Care Living & Design exhibition will be located at Hall 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
