Meet the finalists (Part 3)

PETALING JAYA (Aug 21): In less than 24 hours, 21 finalists will meet at the grand finale of The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest (TEMS MILLIONAIRE)! Clear your diaries for Sat, Aug 22, 8am to 12pm at Southville City @ KL South, Bangi. Head to the Mah SIng sales gallery for what promises to be a riot of entertainment.

Our finalists are excited! We would be too, if we were this close to the RM1 million prize voucher for any Mah Sing residential property in Malaysia... 


Guan Shen Shen 
27, marketer, Kuala Lumpur

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist? 
When Mah Sing called me I thought it was a prank by my friend. I only believed it was real when I received the official email from the organiser. 
Did I expect to be chosen as one of the finalists? No way! A RM1 million voucher for a Mah Sing property is a really huge prize. I’m sure winning the voucher will difficult, but the chance is greater now because I’m one of the finalists. 

How are you preparing for the grand finale?   
To be frank, this good news came at the wrong time. I’ve been really busy with work lately and have had no time to train physically. But I’ll do what I can in these few days and give it my best this weekend.

Mohd Isa bin Khadis
45, self employed, Selangor

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?
I felt very happy, and very lucky to be chosen, and also surprised, because I felt the chances were very slim.

How are you preparing for the grand finale?
I don’t know what’s going to happen on Saturday so I’ve just been reading up on Mah Sing and doing some jogging.

Soh Siew Hoon
60, retired medical technologist, Kuala Lumpur

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?
I was on another trip to Brunei when my sister messaged me to say I had been chosen as one of the finalists. I’m so happy and can’t believe it. This is the first time. I felt so lucky! 

I participated in this contest when I was in Brunei. I saw the contest banner while browsing The Malaysian Insider portal. Out of curiosity, I joined the contest, [and played] the online ‘Treasure Hunt’ game, to gain tokens. [It was] interesting and I played it a few times.
Honestly I am just joining for fun, and I didn’t expect to be chosen as one of the finalists. 

How are you preparing for the grand finale?
There 20 other contestants out there and I don’t think I will win. I don’t know what to do, but I am going there to have fun. 

Mohd Syahrul Azlan Rezhuan
29, doctor, Sabah

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist?
I couldn’t believe I’d been chosen as one of the finalists. I didn’t visit the website everyday like the others and I did not collect as many tokens. I can’t describe how happy I am and how lucky I feel. 

How are you preparing for the grand finale?
I’m flying back to Kuala Lumpur on Friday, and have to go back to my work station in Sabah right after the contest.
I’ve been told there will be some physical games, but I do not know what to expect in the grand finale. If I win the grand prize, I will definitely grab a unit of Meridin@Medini in Johor, my hometown.

Alex Hoe Kian Siong
26, marketer, Kuala Lumpur

How did you feel about being shortlisted as a finalist? 
My heart skipped a beat when I received the call. I stayed calm during the phone conversation but in fact I was so nervous. 
Although I visited the website and did everything I could to collect as many tokens as possible, I’d never thought I would be chosen as one of the finalists for real. I’ve never won anything great like this. I believe luck will be with me in the grand finale too.   

How are you preparing for the grand finale?  
Ever since I received the call, I’ve researched the possible games for the grand finale. I even called Mah Sing and The Edge for tips, but all they suggested is to relax and rest well before Saturday. I guess I’m quite well-prepared for this weekend and I will try my very best to win the voucher.
