Mapex REHDA

PETALING JAYA (Sept 9): The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (REHDA) targets sales of at least RM300 million from the year's third and last Malaysia Property Expo (Mapex).

“There is no larger property expo than Mapex, bringing together the nation’s developers both big and small players, to offer purchasers huge selections and quality developments that suit their budgets. Mapex is organised to allow property players to support the property industry together,” said REHDA past president and chairman of Mapex organising committee, Datuk Ng Seing Liong today.

Ng was speaking at a press conference for the upcoming third and final Mapex in 2015, which will be held from Oct 30 to Nov 1. Mapex is jointly organised by REHDA Malaysia, REHDA Wilayah Persekutuan (KL) and REHDA Selangor.

The first Mapex was held from April 2 to 5, while the second Mapex took place from July 31 to Aug 2. Sales figures of both expos are being tabulated but they currently stand at RM108 million for the first Mapex and RM51 million for the second.

Rehda said the second Mapex had lower sales target as the event had less visitors.

To-date, the third Mapex has gathered more than 60 developers, occupying 225 booths or 90% from the total 260 booths offered. The developers include Mah Sing Group Bhd, Glomac Bhd and IJM Land Bhd.

Ng said that he expects more than 40,000 visitors to attend the final Mapex for the year. It will be held in the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. There will be talks by industry experts, blood donation campaign and fun activities for children as well as prizes and RM30,000 cash rebate.
