ServcorpKUALA LUMPUR (March 16): Servcorp Malaysia has launched its new serviced office suites and virtual offices here in Menara Ilham along Jalan Binjai today.

"While businesses are scaling back, establishing a new office can incur a huge expense for businesses. However, with these new serviced offices by Servcorp, we offer a range of flexible office space to cater for one's individual or a team's need with a flexible leasing period from one month to a year, said Servcorp chief operating officer Marcus Moufarrige at the launch today.

Besides leasing out physical serviced offices, Servcorp also leases out virtual offices.

A virtual office allows businesses to use the address and phone number of a Servcorp centre, complete with a receptionist to handle their sales calls.

"You do not have to be at the office physically. You can have your calls transferred to you wherever you are by our receptionist. Any mails and letters you receive will be collected and passed to you when you return back to the office as well," he said.

According to Moufarrige, the smallest serviced office suites range from 120 sq ft to 500 sq ft with rents starting from RM600 per month onwards, while the virtual office rents are from RM480 per month.

"There are about 60 individual office suites in Menara Ilham. For a serviced office facing a view [such as of KLCC], [rents] average about RM1,000 per person per month while the virtual offices are priced at about RM480 per month. The prices really depend on what the client is requesting for in terms of facilities, space and the amenities,” Moufarrige told TheEdgeProperty.com.

Menara Ilham is located within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle at Jalan Binjai with accessibility towards major roads including Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Ampang.

The office is also a five minutes’ walk to the Ampang Park LRT station and ten minutes’ walk to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).

The new office suites at Menara Ilham by Servcorp take up a total of 14,000 sq ft, and some of the services provided include a dedicated receptionist, meeting rooms, secretarial services and high speed internet for their clients.

Other services Servcorp is offering to its clients include meeting room rentals and business registration.

Currently, Servcorp has two other operating centres in the Kuala Lumpur city centre – at Nu Tower 2 in KL Sentral and Menara Citibank in Jalan Ampang.

The serviced offices in Nu Tower 2 and Menara Citibank are seeing occupancy rates of 80% and 75% respectively.

“Most of our tenants are multinational firms where we have IT firms and oil and gas firms, and up-and-coming Malaysian businesses or start-ups looking for an office with a premium address without paying the hefty price,” he said.

On plans to expand to other regions in Malaysia, Moufarrige said Servcorp is happy to focus on KL for now.

Servcorp has offices in over 130 locations in 51 cities across 23 countries, which are serviced by a team of over 730 personnel globally.

Countries include the US, Europe, China, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

The event also saw the presence of Australian high commissioner to Malaysia, Rod Smith.
