PETALING JAYA (April 29): Tune Hotels Group today announced of global expansion plans through new organisational functions in two main core approaches – brand, assets and capital markets, and development and hotel management.

In a statement today, Tune Hotels announced that its CEO since 2007, Mark Lankester (pictured, right), will take charge of the first core of brand, assets and capital markets as its CEO; while Frank Trampert (pictured, bottom), who joined Tune Hotels as chief operating officer last year, will be CEO of the second core function of development and hotel management.

“Through the new organisational functions, it will give us the opportunity to focus on the key elements of our strategy of providing high-quality value accommodation to all – more hotels and operational excellence of those hotels,” said Lankester.

The new organisation’s core functions will allow Lankester to focus on building the right business partnerships globally. This would include asset investments, capital markets involvement and growing the franchise globally.

Trampert will continue to drive performance and operational excellence to further strengthen partnerships with operating hotels.

“By making everything simple yet functional, we aim to empower the overall consumer experience, which in return will benefit our partners globally,” Trampert said.

Both CEOs will continue to be based at the Tune Hotels Group global headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and will report to the board of directors.

Tune Hotels Group will be announcing expansion and new market entries in mid-May.
