Overview

Paloh is a small town in the Kluang district in the state of Johor. According to some, the origin of Paloh’s name was derived from the Chinese word ‘Payao’ which means ‘swamp’, and the name was accorded as Paloh was previously covered by swamps.

To get to Paloh, there is the option of either the Paloh-Kluang Road or alternatively the Paloh-Yong Peng Road. Another travel method to Paloh is by train, as there is a KTM Intercity railway station which connects to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Singapore.

Paloh’s main agricultural activity is the cultivation of oil palm and rubber trees. However, Paloh’s economy is also sustained by factories which specialize in manufacturing clothes and mechanical accessories.

Education options which cater to Paloh’s diverse yet balanced population range from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools to religious and national schools.
