Parit Sulong is a town in the Batu Pahat district in the state of Johor. Parit Sulong is a rather small town; however its size should not belittle the historical events which had once taken place within the town. In fact, Parit Sulong’s most noticed landmark is the historical Parit Sulong Bridge over Sungai Simpang Kiri, which in the past had borne witness to the Pasir Sulong Massacre during World War 2. However, the old bridge which was constructed in 1929 was torn down in 1994 and had been replaced with a new bridge in 1997. Currently, this bridge also serves as a memorial.
Although Parit Sulong is a quiet and considerably modest town, amenities like shops, schools and banks are available.
A mini Halal hub will soon be developed in Jalan Simpang Lima in Parit Sulong. The Halal hub which will be located neaby Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Batu Pahat, was conceived with the intention to help local entrepreneurs export and distribute their products not only to other parts of Malaysia, but also to foreign markets.
