Overview

Jalan Ipoh is among the oldest arterial roads in Kuala Lumpur. Stretching from the Segambut and Jinjang neighbourhoods to parts of the city near Sentul, Titiwangsa and Chow Kit, the core of Jalan Ipoh revolves around thriving businesses, many of which are run in old shophouses while its residential property landscape comprises of both landed and non-landed properties.  In November 2014 however, the stretch from the Jalan Segambut junction to the Jalan Pahang junction of Jalan Ipoh was renamed by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.

Accessibility and Transportation

Jalan Ipoh is easily accessible to other parts of the Klang Valley via different routes such as the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), the Duta – Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) and also via Jalan Kuching. As a further testament to its strategic location, Jalan Ipoh is also located very near to affluent residential areas such as Mont’ Kiara, Bangsar, Kenny Hills, Sri Hartamas as well as the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Jalan Ipoh is also within the vicinity of notable landmarks, such as the Putra World Trade Centre, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Complex, the Jalan Duta Hockey Stadium, the Federal Territory mosque as well as Istana Negara (the Royal Palace).  Public transportation includes public buses, taxis as well as shuttle buses to the nearby Light Rail Transit (LRT) station on the Star line as well as the KTM Commuter Train station. Eventually, Jalan Ipoh will get its own MASS Rapid Transit (MRT) station as it will be one of the stops on the Sungai Buloh – Serdang – Putrajaya Line (MRT Line 2).
