Old Klang Road, or also known as Jalan Klang Lama, is one of the oldest roads in Klang Valley. In fact, it is said to be the first major road in Klang Valley before the Federal Highway was built. The road passes two towns – Sungei Way and Petaling Jaya. Historically, Old Klang Road used to be the only link between Port Klang and Kuala Lumpur.

Amenities and Facilities

Today, when you take a drive along Old Klang Road, you will notice a mix of both old and new. Amidst some old shops, you will find new developments of commercial buildings as well as condominiums. Traffic is pretty busy most of the day thanks to its strategic location close to the city centre and beyond. There are many eateries to choose from. There is a large Chinese population in the area and this contributes towards Old Klang Road being a sought-after area for Chinese delicacies such as bak kut teh, noodles and steamed fish.

Nightlife in the area is also growing with some pubs especially since Scott Garden opened its doors in 2011. The mixed integrated development has retail units, condominiums and a hypermarket. Tesco is the anchor tenant there.

Accessibility and Transportation

Not only is Old Klang Road a mature yet bustling area, it is also very strategically located. It is just a few minutes to Mid Valley Megamall, one of the largest shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. It is easily accessible to major roads and highways including Federal Highway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Jalan Syed Putra, Jalan Puchong-Petaling Jaya, Jalan Kuchai Lama, Damansara-Puchong Expressway and East-West Link Expressway.
