Batu Ferringhi



Still one of the most popular Penang destination, Batu Feringghi is where everyone flocks to for the perfect beach getaway despite its winding main road to arrive.

Past Tanjung Bungah, Batu Ferringhi is the go-to place for water sports like jet-skiing and para-sailing and the beach is enjoyed by regular picnickers or visitors who prefer to stay at a beach resort.

Amenities and Facilities

Located a little more than 30km from the Penang International Airport, the area is densely populated with a wide range of accommodation choices for tourists, many eateries and a night market with everything from t-shirts to household decorative items.

There are many tourist attractions in and around the area, including the Penang Butterfly Farm, the Tropical Spice Garden in Teluk Bahang, the Toy Museum in Tanjung Bungah and the 25 acre wide Tropical Fruit Farm that also offers jungle trekking and camping activities.

It goes without saying how business outlet would throng popular areas and therefore a host of mini-markets, banks and healthcare providers can be found in Batu Ferringhi.

There is a large Tesco hypermarket in Tanjung Bungah, before one enters into Batu Ferringhi's jurisdictions, and the area itself offers a few international schools, vernacular schools and kindergartens.

Property Types

Residential areas have grown from the usual single-storey houses and double-storey terrace areas to also accommodate high-rise condominiums and apartments, luxury abodes, bungalows and hosts of commercial centres.

Accessibility and Transportation

With a distance of some 15km from George Town, you can get to Batu Ferringhi via the Rapid Penang bus from Komtar or taxis on the island. To get there from the mainland, one can also take a taxi and cross over using the Penang Bridge, consider the ferry option from the Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal, next to Penang Sentral in Butterworth. Once you arrive on the island, there are taxis and buses to get you to Batu Ferringhi.
