Raja Uda is a residential area in Butterworth, Penang. The name comes from the Riau aristocratic line, a member of the Selangor royal family. The neighbourhood is served by the trunk road Jalan Raja Uda, which was named after the late Raja Tun Sir Uda Al-Haj bin Raja Muhammad (1894-1976), who served as the first post-independence Governor of Penang from Aug 31, 1957 until Aug 30, 1967.
