Bandar Mahkota Cheras, located in district of Ulu Langat, Selangor, was established around the year 2000 by developer Narajaya Sdn Bhd (subsidiary of Lion Group). The freehold township, covering over 1000 acres, was considered as one of the desired location about a decade ago for KL homebuyers who were looking for affordable houses and for those who were aiming for a suburban lifestyle away from the city.

The neighbouring townships are Bandar Sungai Long, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn and Taman Cheras Vista. Bandar Mahkota Cheras offers variety of properties, but mainly landed homes. Located between Cheras and Kajang, residents in Bandar Mahkota Cheras could reach major business hubs in Kajang and Cheras within a 10 to 15km drive.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras is strategically located with easy access to both Kuala Lumpur and Kajang. The township is accessible via North-South Highway (PLUS), Grand Saga Highway, BESRAYA highway, MRR 2, SILK Highway and LEKAS Highway. The township also has two main dual carriageway roads, Persiaran Mahkota Cheras 1 and 2.

As for public transportation, the nearest MRT stations from Bandar Mahkota Cheras are Batu 11 Cheras, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn and Bukit Dukung stations.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras is a popular area for homeseekers as evident in it being one of EdgeProp.my’s most searched areas in the Klang Valley in 2019.

As at January 2020, a bungalow unit at Bandar Mahkota Cheras was sold for RM2.25 million. The buyer liked the unit for its spaciousness and the wide street in front of the house. Meanwhile, on September 2019, a shop office was sold for RM2.87 million. The buyer bought the spacious end-lot unit for investment purposes due to its strategic location and proximity to UTAR Sungai Long campus.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras is well-known and sought after because of the various amenities and facilities in the township and its surrounding area. Seksyen 9 is the main and only commercial centre of the township that comprises BMC Mall and three-storey shopoffices housing convenience stores, supermarkets, F&B outlets, banks and other shops.

As for malls, Aeon Mahkota Cheras can be found in the township while other shopping choices such as Giant Cheras, Cheras Sentral Mall, Cheras LesiureMall, and The Mines Shopping Mall are located up to 10km away in neighbouring townships.

Schools nearby Bandar Mahkota Cheras include SMK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, SMK Cheras Perdana, SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Long, SK Bukit Raya, SMK Perimbun and Sekolah Antarabangsa Sri Cempaka.

Higher educational institutes in the vicinity are UTAR Sungai Long campus and Universiti Putra Malaysia. Nearest hospitals from the township are KPJ Kajang Secialist Hospital and UKM Hospital.
