Johor provides housing lots for Felda young generations

KOTA TINGGI (Jan 11): The Johor state government is prepared to approve vacant land in Felda areas in the state as residential lots for the young generations in the schemes.

Menteri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian said the state government has no objection to giving 4,500 sq ft lots as housing sites for children of Felda settlers in the state.

He said the state government also agrees to impose a premium of only RM1 for every one square foot of land compared to the current market price of RM3.

‘’We have received 2,360 applications for residential lots from six Felda schemes in the Sedili State Assembly constituency and the state government has approved 1,420 applications under the first phase.

‘’Meanwhile, the rest and applications from other Felda areas in the state will be approved soon,’’ he said.

He made the announcement at a ceremony to hand over certificates for a Johor Felda Youth skills programme at Dewan Semai Bakti, Bukit Waha Felda, here yesterday.

He also announced the approval of a RM600,000 allocation to six Felda schemes in the Sedili State Assembly seat for the purpose of developing infrastructure.

The allocation was for Felda Tenggaruh Selatan, Aping Barat, Aping Timur, Bukit Waha, Simpang Waha and Bukit Easter, with each getting RM100,000.
