Perak to focus on development, people's happiness in rebuilding state

IPOH (June 6): The Perak government will focus on its commitment to the people by pursuing a balanced development agenda in rebuilding the state.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said that as a responsible state government, it was not focusing on economic growth and investment alone.

Instead, the state government in rebuilding the state would focus on creating a balance by improving the Happiness Index among the people.

"To realise this dream, efforts have been made to generate state government revenues, striking a balance between environmental sustainability and dependence on traditional resources such as logging, mining or quarrying activities,” he said in his speech at the state Aidilfitri celebrations here yesterday.

The event was graced by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, and the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, and attended by more than 20,000 visitors.

Ahmad Faizal also said that the goal of diversifying state resources and attracting investments would not be achieved if there was no political stability.
