Covid-19: Paramount Property City2City Ride postponed

GEORGE TOWN (May 19): The 2020 Paramount Property City2City Ride has been postponed until further notice because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Penang Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee, in a statement yesterday, said the decision, taken after the state government had a meeting with the organiser on May 15, was to safeguard the health and welfare of potential participants.

The event was scheduled to take place on July 5 at the Design Village Outlet Mall in Batu Kawan.

"Due to the Covid-19 situation, sports involving groups are not encouraged to be held in compliance with the National Security Council's standard operating procedure (SOP)," he said.

For more information about sport events, Penangites are encouraged to contact the Penang State Exco for Youth and Sports office at 04-650 5136 or follow updates on Facebook at Sports For All Penang, he added.
