Two TNB sub-contractors electrocuted to death in Gelang Patah

JOHOR BAHRU (Aug 11): Two Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) sub-contractors died after being electrocuted at Jalan Bunga Raya, Leisure Farm Resort at Gelang Patah here last night.

The victims, Mohd Faizul Mohd Fauzi, 37, and Shahlan Mohamed, 30, were confirmed dead at the scene.

Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Station Operations commander, senior fire officer II Mohd Anuar Mohd Amdzah said the incident occurred at about 8 pm while they were doing underground cable replacement works for a road-widening project.

“Immediately upon receiving the call, a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) engine from Iskandar Puteri station with nine personnel was dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found the two deceased in the hole filled with water, believed to have been electrocuted while doing cable installation works,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The operation ended at about 10.05 pm, he said.
