Penang CM advises journos to restrict outdoor movement after Covid-19 case alert

GEORGE TOWN (Oct 29): Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (pictured) has advised all those who attended his media conference yesterday to stay indoors as far as possible for the time being after a media personnel was identified as a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case reported today.

He said the Penang State Health Department (JKNPP) has confirmed the media practitioner had undergone a COVID-19 screening test today.

Chow said the department will issue a quarantine order if the close contact case tests positive for COVID-19.

"JKNPP will inform the Chief Minister's office about the COVID-19 test results of the close contact case and other developments from time to time,” he added.
