Melaka aims for best MCO SOP compliance

MELAKA (Jan 14):  Melaka wants to remain among the best states for compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the Movement Control Order (MCO) which has taken effect from yesterday until Jan 26.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali (pictured) said during the first MCO last year, Melaka was among the top three states in the country which recorded the highest rate of SOP compliance of over 98 per cent.

“I’m confident and I believe that Melaka people can do the same this time around by continuing to adhere to all stipulated regulations and SOP and help break the COVID-19 infection chain,” he said in a live phone interview with Melakafm today.

Sulaiman said although the latest MCO provided some relaxation in certain aspects, it didn’t mean that the people could act and behave to their whims and fancies to the extent of ignoring the SOP.

Melaka is among the six states placed under the MCO besides Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Johor and Sabah.
