KUALA LUMPUR: UK developer Berkley Group today launches The Tower, a mixed-use project that is poised to be Croydon’s tallest building.

The Tower is a 43-storey building with 414 apartment units and penthouses and 17,369 sq ft of retail space located in Saffron Square.

Saffron Square is part of a multi-million pound regeneration of the area, that includes the development of 756 new homes in the town centre by Berkley Group.

The built-ups of the apartments will  range from 333 sq ft to 1,052 sq ft, featuring studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom layouts. Prices start from £160,000 (RM822,460).

The apartments have floor-to-ceiling window glazing and Juliette balconies that offer views across Croydon and London. The penthouses will have designer kitchens, sound system, sky lounges and roof terraces.

Buyers will be able to choose interiors and finishes from the developer’s City Collection, inspired by the world’s fashion capitals — London, Paris, Milan and New York. The penthouses can be customised according to the developers’ premium City Collection designs called Knightsbridge or Manhattan.

Other facilities include a fitness suite, residents’ lounge and an art gallery. The communal areas are inspired by “The Arthouse”, which includes a theatrical dark painted ceiling, custom-designed seating areas and gallery spaces for local artists.

The retail space will cover a one-acre public square, with shops in the area — including Tesco Express and letting agent.

The launch was held from Sept 6-8 at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
