KUALA LUMPUR: A wholly-owned unit of construction firm Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has clinched a RM20.4 million contract from Jabatan Perumahan Negara to build a housing project in Dengkil, Sepang.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Monday, Oct 10, the company said Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd's winning of the Taman Topaz project — construction is expected to last 14 months — boosts the group's order book to RM2.73 billion.

"This year, we have secured new projects worth over RM1 billion, which is consistent with our performance over the last few years," said group managing director Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng in a press release on Monday.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to group earnings for FY12 ending Dec 31, 2012, it said.

The counter closed one sen or 0.96% higher to RM1.05 on Monday with 3.5 million shares changing hands.
