UOA Development posts RM119m 3rd quarter PBT

KUALA LUMPUR: UOA Development Bhd registered a pre-tax profit (PBT) of RM119.32 million for its third quarter ended Sept 30 compared with RM79.21 million posted in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue for the three months rose to RM282.34 million from RM157.06 million previously.

For the nine-month period, the company registered a slightly higher PBT of RM317.63 million against RM317.08 million previously.

Revenue rose to RM627.88 million from RM476.13 million last year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, UOA Development said the growth in earnings was mainly due to the progressive recognition from the group’s on-going development projects.

MPHB pre-tax profit rises to RM99.6m


KUALA LUMPUR: Multi-Purpose Holdings Bhd’s (MPHB) pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30 increased to RM99.56 million from RM97.48 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM827.69 million from RM819.97 million previously, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

For the six-month period, its pre-tax profit fell to RM345.71 million from RM384.4 million last year.

Revenue dropped to RM2.6 billion from RM2.61 billion previously.

MPHB said the pre-tax profit of RM79.4 million achieved by the gaming division was RM6.2 million lower than the RM85.6 million reported in the previous corresponding period due to higher operating expenses. — Bernama

E&O gross earnings jump to RM51.5m

KUALA LUMPUR: Eastern & Oriental Bhd’s (E&O) pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended Sept 30 rose to RM51.5 million from the RM18.2 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenue surged to RM156.7 million from RM82.6 million previously, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

For the six-month period, its pre-tax profit rose to RM92.3 million from RM88.9 million in the same period of 2011.
Revenue increased to RM296.2 million from RM158.5 million previously.

“Our unbilled sales as at Nov 20 are already close to RM1 billion,” deputy managing director Eric Chan Kok Leong said in a statement yesterday. — Bernama
