SERI KEMBANGAN (April 25): Country Heights Holdings Bhd launched Mines Wellness Hotel on Wednesday, following a hefty RM1.3 million refurbishment that is set to reposition what was formerly known as the Palace Beach and Spa.

Officiating the wellness-centric resort launch was Tourism Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Ong Hong Peng, Country Heights group chief executive officer Dianna Lee and Mines Wellness Hotel GM Eusebius Samm.

"Wellness is a growing segment. We hope that by integrating hospitality services and alternative wellness healing programmes, Malaysians — as well as tourists — can take advantage of this convenience to start treating themselves well," said Lee.

She added that the Mines Wellness Hotel's shift in positioning from its previous proposition of being a leisure resort aims to target a fast-growing group of wellness-conscious tourist market.

Patrons to the Mines Wellness Hotel can indulge in comprehensive and holistic wellness services, through the Hotel's partnership with the Golden Horses Health Sanctuary.

The Wellness consultants at the Hotel's Wellness Gallery will be able to customise wellness packages for the guests, combining the use of facilities such as the 18 tuina and therapy rooms, herb bars and pharmacy, TCM services, and Ayurvedic therapies such as medicated oil drips and other alternative health treatments.

The hotel also offers packages for patients who are undergoing rehabilitation and recuperation from injuries or surgeries, to heal and regain their strength. It is also now officially a smoke-free resort.

The refurbishment of the Wellness Floor incorporates details such as organic pillows, posturepedic coconut husk beds, vibration cards for sound sleep, salt crystal lamps, BMI machines, pebble-walk paths for reflexology at the balconies, complimentary heat packs, hot water bagss and healthy tea selections for its guests.

For the Meetings Incentive Conferencing Exhibitions (MICE) market, the hotel offers unique health-conscious selections such as Qi Gong and Yoga classes, healthy menus, as well as an option to integrate water sports — such as wake boarding, water-skiing, para-sailing, dining and massage cruises — for MICE and team building participants.
