KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd announced a higher pre-tax profit of RM196.03 million for 3QFY12 ended April 30 compared with RM158.37 million in the previous corresponding period.

Its revenue rose to RM705.86 million from RM621.2 million previously, it told Bursa Malaysia.

For the nine months ended April 30, its pre-tax profit increased to RM551.47 million from RM393.39 million a year ago.

Gamuda said its construction division gained from work progress on the electrified double tracking project while the property division saw higher profit from existing projects in Malaysia and the land sale to Aeon Co of Japan in Celadon City, Vietnam. — Bernama
